summary The boy Luke is spending vacation in Norway at the house of his grandmother Helga Eveshim house with his parents. She tells stories of evil witches and how her best childhood friend was kidnapped by a witch. Out of the blue, Luke's parents have a car accident and die and Helga becomes Luke's guardian. They move to England and one day, a woman approaches and speaks to Luke, but he identifies that she is a witch. One day, Helga falls ill and her doctor tells that it is her diabetes. She decides to travel to a seaside hotel to recover from her diabetes. On the arrival, Luke befriends the fat boy Bruno Jenkins and has problems with the manager Mr. Stringer because of his pet white mice. Meanwhile a group of women from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children arrive for a convention with their leader Miss Eva Ernst. But soon Luke learns that Eva is indeed the Grand High Witch and their convention is to distribute a magic potion to turn boys into mice in England. When the Grand High Witch sees Luke, she turns him into a mouse. What will the boy do?

This movie was interesting, held your attention, and was very unique, definitley a first of it's kind. For those who say that the film was too scary or disturbing for children, I disagree, This film is just a fantasy, nothing more, and I would say that children over 5 would take the biggest intrest to it,and would understand that it was not real. If you have viewed the movie, you will see that some of it is so self explanitory that it is fake that almost all kids can see it, that is why it is called a fan-ta-sy. Children under 5 may get a little scared because they do not understand the movie, and only look at the images, which can be a little scary at times. if children of all ages love harry there is nothing different about this. This is definitley worth a look. and I reccomend it to all families, with children under 5 or even just to adults. believe me, you'll love this movie.

SPOILERS Did anyone else feel like the whole neighbour thing was actually a lot more disturbing and dark than most of the ghostly stuff in the movie (not counting the cellphone doppelgänger scene, that shit traumatised me) she was babysitting for about 2 years, she died at 16 so therefore she started at around 14, we dont know how many encounters she had with the neighbours and how long it was going on for, plus, in the tape they found, you dont see/hear much but it sounded like she mightve been crying, its not clear but it opens up the possibility that maybe they were sexually abusing her, and even if they werent, she was still underage, it just made my skin crawl and it was frustrating and sad when they got away with it, i understand its not a massive part of the movie and I may be way off but that just shows how great and disturbing this movie is, theres so many things to talk about, mainly how she actually died, I feel like because that was never really looked into that much, she actually wasnt free at all in the end, the family moved away leaving her spirit unrested, I had to remind myself that its just a movie when I finished watching because of how well it was done, it definitely left a hollow and unnerving feeling.
